Jo believes in providing safe and creative psychiatric care that is as compassionate as it is grounded. For Jo, the connections between, being true to who you are, physical activity, and mental resilience are the core elements of his philosophy for a healthy, mind. His approach to mental health is diverse and movement-focused. Jo takes his lived experience as a marginalized person within the LGBTQ+ community and as an elite athlete to offer specialized care to these communities and all other
 

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Jo is dedicated to using this personal experience and clinical knowledge to serve the diverse queer community and all minorities. Jo’s approach to wellness is also deeply informed by his background as an elite-level athlete. A former competitive gymnast, swimmer, and martial artist, he is very familiar with the mental and physical demands of training at a high level.
 

Jo first graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Exercise Physiology, followed by his nursing degree from George Washington University where he worked a variety of clinical roles including Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry. He obtained this Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from Wilkes University and has found his specialized care community here at NothingBetter Health.
